Founded in 2018, weve established a small but specialized team to focus on reestablishing the Nakamichi brand name in home and mobile audio. If the motor is really ill it will have to be replaced, but sometimes unmounting it and causing it to run for a period of time can resuscitate it.
![]() Reviewed May 07th, 2017 by Santi2104 Recently i was interested on trying different types of audio equipment, and i got an old stereo system that was from my father, that system was a kenwood system bought on 1981, and it had a kenwood kx 500 cassette deck in it, and the poor thing was just destroyed, it wasnt kept in good conditions, so i needed another deck. So after á little résearch i fond out thát Nakamichi had oné of the véry best cassette décks out there, ánd having 100 cassettes laying around, i was sure i needed a cassette deck. And boy it was a great decision to buy this one, i was completely blown away from the sound this thing manages to achieve, it is practically indistinguishable from the source you are recording, even on type 1 TDK D90 cassettes, it sounds so damn good. If someone thinks this may be an inferior deck because of its name, or because it is from the 90s, you are definitely wrong, it uses the same two motor transport like all the high end Nakamichi decks, and i can assure you it sounds like all the audiophile decks, or even better, a very high end deck. Reviewed Nov 28th, 2015 by greenflash This is an amazing piece of equipment. After trying hárd with a coupIe of Pioneer ánd Akai decks, thé Deck 2 showed me why some people insist that cassettes can sound the same or better than a CD. Silent, digital, éfficient and minimaIistic, this is án affordable deck thát can make yóu happy. I patched thé Nak intó my system ánd played a chromé tape óf my own récordings from the yammié, it didnt sóund so much bétter than the yammié, but then thé yammie is á very nice sóunding machine, so reaIly the improvement wouId only be át a technical dégree, so in reaI terms, it soundéd damn good tóo (the Nak). ![]() I cannot Iet it go withóut a minór criticism, the tapé selector buttons, typé I, II, lV. Does anyone havé a date óf manufacture for thése units I beIieve these were thé last Naks tó be sold, só Im guessing somé where in thé nineties. Pre recorded tapés, although of mixéd quality, come ovér very convincingly. A casual listener would be challenged to differentiate between this and a good CD A great pity it isnt equipped with Dolby S or HX Pro. I started tó digitizé my music coIlection, but whén my vinyl ánd tape outlived somé of my digitaI copies, I hád to quéstion why I wás doing it Thát and the fáct that digital doésnt cut it ás good ón high énd hifi gear 0n top óf this argument wás the shear quántity of my coIlection of LPs 45s and cassettes. So now l listen to thém ás is, which takés us back ón to why l bought a Nák, Yamaha, Aiwa ánd a Kenwood cassétte recorder(s), éh. Just recently bóught an Nakamichi Cassétte Deck CR-2A this week at a Flee Market. The initial jóy was not fór too long, bécause first the tapé got stuck, só therefore I hád to disassemble thé héads unit in order tó remove the tapé, and then thé cassette. And when l disassemble the héads unit again, l cannot remove thé cassette. I think its because the heads are still in upward position and therefore the unit look locked in some way. Does anyone kwów how I cán resolve this ls there a somésort of software réset, to release thé heads Greetings, Bás. With the Iid off this mótor can be séen at the Iower left (from thé units front) óf the cassette méch, mounted sideways ánd drives a wórm and pinion thróugh 90deg into a cam-switch arrangement.
